Mission Appeal:

In the remote corners of Malawi, Haiti, Mongolia, Zambia, Cameroon, Senegal, Indonesia, Guatemala and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the ministry of our missionaries is focused on the work of First Evangelization, starting the building of faith communities from scratch, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ with words and deeds, mostly among the poor and refugees fleeing wars and trying to settle. In the majority of those locations, we still celebrate the Holy Eucharist in the open or under a tree because there is no church or chapel and people live in tiny slums, which makes it impossible to held a mass at their homes and they are too poor to build a chapel or a church. Lay leaders lack basic training.

The most heartbreaking situations we often face is: many children living in the streets are orphans trauma due to the death of their parents from war, gang violence or disease spread. Those kids don't have a chance to go school. As a result, living in the street exposes them to gang ideologies and human traffickers.

Our out-station missions are so remote that even access to clean water and food is difficult and impossible. Vulnerable mothers and kids are forced to walk miles, hours and several times a day under the heat looking for water. Lack of water has been the driving cause of disease spreads in those communities, killing children, elderly and women.

Appeal donations will help us establish and strengthen new communities of faith and help with lay leaders' training and youth and adult religious education. Another portion of donations will help us fund education, nutrition, health care and access to clean water programs that will benefit vulnerable children, elderly, women and refugees fleeing wars.
