Mission Appeal:
From the beginning, Spiritans have offered a ministry of presence and of hope. Over three centuries, we have brought the Word of God to people on five continents and sixty countries serving the disadvantaged in Africa, Asia, Mexico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and most recently India, Thailand and South America through primary evangelization, refugee ministry, pastoral care, formation, education and humanitarian assistance, and promotion of justice and peace.
We fund critical health priorities, build schools, bring food and water to those lack these necessities, teach career skills, operate hospitals and school, establish refugee camps, and provide medical services. The Province continues to do first evangelization and education outreach for nomadic peoples in Tanzania, along with refugee ministry there, and AIDS service.
Our confreres are still in Ethiopia as well and South Africa, and in the Caribbean – the province is branching out from Puerto Rico and Haiti to a new mission in the Dominican Republic. And the Spiritans have a long history of ministries with African-American communities and immigrant communities in the United States.
We are pleased for the opportunity to share our missionary vision and experience with your local Church via the upcoming MCP. While the Provincial Center is on the East Coast, just outside Pittsburgh, we have administrative centers in various regions of the country – in the South, mid-west, and west coast where we staff and serve local communities, education centers, hospitals and prisons
