Mission Appeal:

I am Father João Paulo Santiago, csj, from the Congregation of the "Brothers of Saint John," writing to seek your support through the Mission Cooperative Plan for our mission in Brazil.
As explained in more detail in the document I sent to you, we need to open a second house in Brazil to ensure the formation of the Brazilian candidates and at the same time ensure the perpetuity of the Mission in Brazil, which deals with a variety of ministries including the poor people in the Brazilian slums.
Our mission, rooted in service to the poor, faces critical challenges. With a current deficit of R$157,691.87 (approximately $30,667.94) in 2022, our singular priory in Salvador is at risk. We urgently need to open a second priory to both welcome and form new vocations, and ensure the perpetuity of our mission in the long-term with the impoverished in the favela "Alto da Esperança." In this context, a second house would allow us to send more brothers to Brazil, giving more potential for finding donors, but also having new brothers coming in a few years. Currently, Brazilian vocations are sent abroad but most of them give up given the cultural challenges. We must form them in their culture.
The funds raised will directly contribute to the establishment of this second house, covering installation and location costs. This expansion is not only crucial for the formation of Brazilian brothers but also for the mission's long-term financial stability.

Your support will not only rescue our existing mission but will also empower us to extend our reach in Salvador.

I am available for any further information or clarification. Your consideration and support are invaluable to us.

In gratitude,
Father João Paulo Santiago, csj
