This appeal donations will be utilized in our ministries, especially the programs for the children we care for in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The Little Sisters of St. Francis (LSOSF) serve in diverse ministries in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and a Mission in USA. Their ministries include, care for the Orphans, the homeless Street boys and girls, treatment and care for children diagnosed with HIV virus infection.
Children with HIV virus get infected through their mothers at birth. This is common in rural poor villages, where medical services are far away or are limited. The Sisters initiate programs to support these children and their mothers to live positive lives as they provide them with treatment and
education on healthy living. The Little Sisters also serve people with diverse disabilities, care for the refugees, rehabilitation of children addicted to illegal substance, abused, or the poor and vulnerable children who are targeted by traffickers. Also the sisters care for the elderly, teach sustainable farming
methods for the poor women and small farmers in villages, education of mothers and Fathers about the repercussions of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) that is practiced in many cultures. The LSOSF work as teachers, healthcare workers, social workers, pastoral and spiritual care for the people in rural villages and often in hard to reach areas. Education, especially of girl child, reduces early marriages, a tradition that is continued in many African tradition. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward for your formal invitation to participate in the MCP 2020. God bless you all.
